Round Steak Marinade

This is a good marinade for top round steaks. I use it before BBQ either as a steak dinner or to make beef soups

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup or tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, Creole mustard, or a similar brown or gourmet mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Dash crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in bowl
  2. Put meat in plastic bags and pour in marinade.
  3. Close and mix enough to cover meat
  4. Place in refrigerator and flip the bag from time to time

History

  • 2022-09-03 – Used to make steaks for Beef Barley Soup. About 1″ steak. Took about 4 minutes a side on BBQ
