Acorn Squash

It takes longer in the oven than using the microwave but I think the results are worth the wait.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium acorn squash, halved and seeded
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  2. Halve and seed the squash
  3. Place acorn squash halves cut-side down onto a cookie sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until flesh begins to soften, about 30 to 45 minutes
  4. Remove squash from the oven and transfer, cut side up, to a deep baking dish.
  5. Spoon half the butter and brown sugar into each and loosely cover with aluminum foil
  6. Return to the oven and continue to bake until flesh is soft, 30 minutes.

Adjustments

  • I made it as directed in the original recipe and it was good but I didn’t like that only one half baked with butter and sugar. So I think it would do better as I have listed in the Directions section.

  • 2025-01-17 – Easy and tasty way to make acorn squash. Will make this again.
