I’ve seen evidence that deer are still getting into the garden area. My suspicion is that they are jumping the fence vs. crawling under or something like that. So I’ve added another ring of polytape that’s at about 8 feet. I haven’t charged it but don’t expect the deer to know!

I also put some of the basil and cilantro plants I grew from seed into the herb garden and did a lot of weeding in the spring garden area along the back walkway. Things are looking pretty good but still waiting for the ground to be dry enough to till so I can add the remaining new gardens.

When you get multiple nudges in a short period of time to do something I consider it a sign. So I’m starting a new post category called “Gardening.” I hope this prevents me from repeating mistakes and helps others who take over for me in the future.

There has been a good bit of work done already this year although “the wettest April on record” has slowed down new garden cutting and other such improvements. I will try to both keep up to date on new developments and include some flashback posts that fill in the gaps from earlier this year. Much of the data associated with the garden plan and progress are includes on various spreadsheets but this will provide a running narative of comments and analysis of the ongoing effort.
