Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
  3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  6. Stir in morsels and nuts.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Adjustments

  • Added 3/4 chocolate and 1/4 butterscotch chips. Fun change of flavor.

History

  • 2024-04-18 – I had some leftover butterscotch chips and mixed these with chocolate 3 to 1. Since Kathy prefers no nuts this gives a nice flavor variation. Good as always
  • 2022-11-24 – No nuts so added 15g additional flour. Probably made them too big. Original recipe says 60 cookies and only got 45 but they are very good.
  • 2023-02-24 – No nuts again so extra flour. Tried to make them smaller but only got to 48 this time. I think to get 60 they’d be too small. Forgot to set the timer (10 min) for last batch and I think I overdid them by about 1-2 minutes but they’re just a bit crispier than the others.
